Before I continue with the real thing, let's first begin with a short history of windows 7 brought to us by Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Windows 7 (formerly codenamed Blackcomb and Vienna) is an upcoming version of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, tablet PCs, netbooks and media center PCs.[1] Microsoft has stated that it plans to release Windows 7 to manufacturing in July 2009,[2] with general retail availability set for October 22, 2009,[3] less than three years after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista. Windows 7's server counterpart, Windows Server 2008 R2, is slated for release at the same time.

Unlike its predecessor, which introduced a large number of new features, Windows 7 is intended to be a more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line, with the goal of being fully compatible with applications and hardware with which Windows Vista is already compatible.[4] Presentations given by the company in 2008 have focused on multi-touch support, a redesigned Windows Shell with a new taskbar, a home networking system called HomeGroup,[5] and performance improvements. Some applications that have been included with prior releases of Microsoft Windows, including Windows Calendar, Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker, Windows Photo Gallery, will not be included in Windows 7; some will instead be offered separately as part of the freeware Windows Live Essentials suite.[6]

-You will know that it's actually Wikipedia as my source because of the numbers.

Here's the real thing:

Before downloading Windows 7 Release Candidate and or buying the final version, the kind people at Microsoft have laid down a few minimum requirements for your current machine to meet upto, to get the most out of Microsoft Windows 7.

Written in cold hard Microsoft sans serif font:
1 GHz processor (32- or 64-bit)
1 GB of RAM (32-bit); 2 GB of RAM (64-bit)
16 GB of available disk space (32-bit); 20 GB of available disk space (64-bit)
DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Now first thing’s first, download the software provided by Microsoft, and Install it onto your hard-drive.

Here's the download link:

-Just Click the word download after clicking the words above. And if you don't have the Windows . Net Framework the installer will prompt you to download it. But don't worry because I think the software will already download the .net framework if you don't have one.

1. Start up the program and click “Start Check”.
