UPDATING/UPGRADING PSP FIRMWARE
This tutorial will show you how to update your PSP's firmware. In case you don't know what firmware is. A firmware is like the operating system of a PSP(in a computer system, firmware examples are windows xp, windows vista, Linux.)
1. Just download these files:
(PSP OFFICIAL FIRMWARES)
MEDIAFIRE FOLDER
ESNIPS FOLDER
(PSP CUSTOM FIRMWARES)
MEDIAFIRE FOLDER
2. Click this link:https://xd627.forumotion.net/psp-hacks-and-tweaks-f1/basic-homebrew-installation-guide-t21.htm
-That's the link for the basic homebrew installation guide, because homebrew application installation and updating your PSP's firmware is somehow the same.
But if you're not interested in going to that link, here is the shortcut instruction:
a. Extract the zip file of the firmware you want to upgrade to. It depends on your current firmware(psp's firmware).
To check your psp's firmware just open:
settings>system settings>system information.
Note: Basic rule in upgrading, is that you cannot upgrade yor psp's firmware when the firmware you are going to upgrade to is lower than your current firmware. For example, if you have firmware 5.00 M33 and you want to upgrade to 3.90, you cannot do that and that's common sense.
b. Put the extracted file(must be a folder), to your:
PSP>GAME folder.
c. Disconnect your PSP from your computer. Then go to the game section of your PSP(where the PSP Games you download are usually located).
d. Open the update(if the file is corrupted, there must be something wrong).
e. Just follow the steps in the update file, the PSP must also be atleast 70% charged.
